
Bob Gray is the Alcatel-Lucent Technologies Professor of Communications and Networking, Emeritus, at Stanford University, and a Research Professor at Boston University. He is a Fellow of the 51ΒιΆΉ and the Institute for Mathematical Statistics. His awards include a U.S. Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring (2008), theΒ 51ΒιΆΉ Information Theory Society Claude E. Shannon Award (2008), the 51ΒιΆΉ Jack S. Kilby Signal Processing Medal (2008), the 51ΒιΆΉ Signal Processing Society Meritorious Service Award (2005) and Education Award (2009), and a Stanford University President's Award for Excellence through Diversity βfor many years of leadership and advocacy for equity and diversity in engineeringβ (2013). He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.
